Ingredient Selection & Preparation

Choose high-quality, organic, and raw plant-based ingredients that are suitable for cold-pressing. Common examples include seeds, nuts, fruits, and flowers.

Clean and prepare the ingredients by removing any dirt, debris, or unwanted parts. Ensure that the ingredients are fresh and free from pesticides or chemical residues.

Crushing or Grinding

The selected ingredients are typically crushed or ground to break them down into smaller pieces. This step helps release the oils from the plant material and makes the extraction process more efficient.

Pressing & Filtration

The crushed or ground ingredients are then placed in a hydraulic or mechanical press. The press applies pressure to the ingredients, squeezing out the oil while leaving behind the solid residue. The pressure is exerted slowly and gently to avoid generating heat that could compromise the integrity of the oil.

After the oil is extracted, it is usually passed through a filtration process to remove any remaining plant particles or impurities. This step helps refine the oil and ensure its purity.

Storage

The cold-pressed oil is stored in dark glass or opaque containers to protect it from light exposure, which can degrade the oil's quality. It is important to store the oil in a cool, dry place to maintain its freshness and potency.
